Kirkuk Journal of Medical Sciences

The Kirkuk Journal of Medical Sciences (KJMS) is a peer-reviewed, open-access journal published by the University of Kirkuk, Iraq. Established in 2013 as the Journal of Kirkuk Medical College, it was renamed in 2021 to reflect its broader scope. The journal publishes one annual volume comprising two semiannual issues: Issue 1 (January–June) and Issue 2 (July–December). Articles are published within an Issue in Progress model and are final upon online publication, with DOI, final page range, and complete citation metadata.

KJMS follows the BOAI open-access model, allowing free use and distribution of its content. All submissions are screened with iThenticate and undergo double-blind peer review to ensure originality, quality, and ethical standards. The journal publishes original research, reviews, commentaries, letters to the editor, images in clinical practice, and case reports in medical sciences. It is self-funded and receives no governmental or non-governmental financial support.
